Wix carries an old reputation it has partly outgrown. Modern Wix renders real HTML, generates sitemaps, and exposes per-page SEO and structured-data surfaces that most owners never open. A Wix site can be findable. It usually isn’t, because the deliberate layer was never set up, and that setup is the work.

How I work on Wix

• Set up the machine layer. Structured data through Wix’s per-page SEO surfaces and code embeds, metadata done deliberately, crawler policy set on purpose.
• Audit first. A written read on what your plan tier allows and what your site is missing, before any work is sold.
• Name the ceiling honestly. Wix allows less low-level control than open platforms. Most small businesses never hit that ceiling; if your goals will, I’ll say so with specifics and map the path.

The machine layer on Wix

• Structured data ships through Wix’s own surfaces. Per-page SEO settings and code embeds carry hand-authored JSON-LD, validated on the live pages.
• Sitemaps and canonical basics are automatic. The defaults are serviceable; the deliberate layer on top is what’s missing.
• Root-file limits apply. llms.txt rides a lightweight proxy in front, as on most hosted builders.
